Foreword
This document was drafted in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020
"Directives for standardization - Part 1.Rules for the structure and drafting of
standardizing documents".
This document is Part 7 of GB/T 2820 "Reciprocating internal combustion engine
driven alternating current generating sets". GB/T 2820 has published the following
parts.
- Part 1.Application, ratings and performance;
- Part 2.Engines;
- Part 3.Alternating current generators for generating sets;
- Part 4.Controlgear and switchgear;
- Part 5.Generator sets;
- Part 6.Test methods;
- Part 7.Technical declarations for specification and design;
- Part 8.Requirement and tests for low-power generating sets;
- Part 9.Measurement and evaluation of mechanical vibrations;
- Part 10.Measurement of airborne noise by the enveloping surface method;
- Part 11.Rotary uninterruptible power systems - Performance requirements and test
methods;
- Part 12.Emergency power supply to safety services.
This document replaces GB/T 2820.7-2002 "Reciprocating internal combustion engine
driven alternating current generating sets - Part 7.Technical declarations for
specification and design". Compared with GB/T 2820.7-2002, in addition to structural
adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
- ADD the option of "Fuel system safety structure" (see 4.1 of Table 1);
- ADD the options of "Maximum power" and "Emergency standby power" (see 4.5
of Table 1);
- ADD new fuel types (see Appendix A).
This document modifies and adopts ISO 8528-7.2017 "Reciprocating internal
Reciprocating internal combustion engine driven alternating

specification and design
1 Scope
This document specifies the requirements and parameters for the specifications and
design of generator sets driven by reciprocating internal combustion engines, based on
the definitions given in GB/T 2820.1-2022, GB/T 2820.2-2009, GB/T 2820.3-2009,
GB/T 2820.4-2009, ISO 8528-5.2022, GB/T 2820.6-2009.
This document applies to land and marine AC generator sets driven by reciprocating
internal combustion engines; it does not apply to generator sets for aviation or driving
land vehicles and locomotives.
For some specific applications (such as power supply for hospitals, high-rise buildings,
etc.), additional requirements are required. The provisions of this document are
regarded as the basis for these applications.
For other reciprocating prime movers (such as biogas engines, steam engines, etc.), the
provisions of this document are regarded as the basis for these applications.
