Bench test methods for safe ride
performance of in-use electric vehicles
1 Scope
This standard specifies the test items and methods of electric vehicles, such as
routine test, electrical safety, drive capability, electrical energy consumption,
power storage battery system and in-vehicle electromagnetic environment.
This standard applies to in-use electric vehicles of category-M and category-N,
it is not suitable for fuel cell electric vehicles and full-time four-wheel drive
electric vehicles.

6.2.2.1 In accordance with the measurement method specified in GB/T 18384.3,
use Megger to measure insulation resistance value between the power system
and the chassis of electric vehicles.
6.2.2.2 The measurement voltage shall be DC voltage with no less than
maximum operating voltage of power system and shall be applied for a
sufficient period to obtain a stable reading. When measuring, power storage
battery and auxiliary storage battery shall be disconnected; the bonding parts
of auxiliary circuit at both ends shall be connected with vehicle chassis.
6.2.2.3 Under maximum operating voltage, the minimum value of insulation
resistance for DC circuit shall be at least greater than100 Ω/V; for AC circuit, it
shall be at least greater than 500 Ω/V.
6.3 Drive capability
6.3.1 Driving wheel driving force under specified operating conditions
It shall be tested for driving wheel driving force under specified operating
conditions according to the following methods.
a) Place driving wheel of vehicles-under-test on chassis dynamometer roller.
Dynamometer uses constant-speed control mode;
b) Start vehicle and accelerate gradually. Electric vehicles with transmission
change to direct gear;
c) The measurement speed of category-M1 and category-N1 vehicles is
(60±0.2) km/h through dynamometer control system; except category-M1
and category-N1 vehicles, the measurement speed of other vehicles is
(50±0.2) km/h;
d) Step on accelerator pedal slowly, step by step, until the displayed driving
force is higher than the calculated value of loading force specified in 6.3.3,
stabilizing for more than 10 s. Record power, torsion and speed of
vehicles-under-test within measurement interval stabilizing for 10 s and
take average value;
e) If accelerator pedal is maximally depressed, the displayed driving force
still cannot reach the calculated value of loading force specified in 6.3.3;
then record the power, torsion and speed of vehicles within 10 s
measurement-interval; and take the average value; label it with obvious
mark, then exit this test.
6.3.2 Stable running capacity under specified operating conditions
storage battery management system does not meet the needs of power
storage battery of QC/T 897, then use testing equipment to measure
directly the total voltage, total current and temperature of power storage
battery system;
b) Before the beginning of the test, record the monomer voltage of power
storage battery Ui, the total voltage of power storage battery system Ut,
the nominal total voltage of manufacturer’s power storage battery system
Utn, and the standard discharge current of manufacturer’s power storage
battery system It;
c) According to the method of "6.4.1b)", load chassis dynamometer, set and
control testing vehicle speed of vehicles-under-test;
d) After the vehicle speed is stable for 5 seconds, measure the steady current
value I't of power storage battery system under steady speed,
continuously sampling 3 times; interval time is no less than 2 s, record
average value;
e) After the end of the test, record the average value of total voltage of power
storage battery system-U't, battery monomer voltage - U'i, i = 1, 2, ... n
within 2 s; record the maximum value of all temperature measurement
points of battery system within 2 seconds after the end of vehicle driving-
Tmax;
f) When the battery temperature exceeds 65 °C, stop testing;
When the battery system automatically terminates discharge, stop testing;
In discharge stage, if the monomer storage battery voltage is lower than the
final discharging voltage specified in technical conditions of the enterprises,
then stop testing; when the SOC (battery state of charge) is lower than 30%,
then stop testing, record the monomer voltage for SOC at 30%; When the
running speed of vehicles cannot reach 54 km/h (category-M1 and category-N1
vehicles) or 45 km/h (other in-use electric vehicles except category-M1 and
category-N1 vehicles), stop testing.
