GB/T 9766 Test Method for Tyre Valves is divided into seven parts:
---Part 1: Test Method for Tube Clamp-in Valves;
---Part 2: Rubber Base Valves Test Methods;
---Part 3: Test Methods for Snap-in Valves;
---Part 4: Test Methods for Tubeless Clamp-in Valves;
---Part 5: Test Methods for Large Core Chamber Tyre Valves;
---Part 6: Test Method for Core;
---Part 7: Test Methods for Components.
This is Part 1 of GB/T 9766.
This Part was drafted in accordance with the rules provided in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This Part serves as a replacement of GB/T 9766.1-2008 Test Method for Tyre Valves - Part 1:
Test Method for Clamp-in Valves. In comparison with GB/T 9766.1-2008, the main technical
changes are as follows:
---The accuracy grade of the pressure gauge is modified; the grade of the pressure gauge
with an indicating value of 0 kPa ~ 2,500 kPa is modified from the previous Grade 1.5
into Grade 1.6 (see Chapter 4; Chapter 4 of Version 2008);
---The assembly torque of Type H01 valve core is modified from “0.17 N m ~ 0.34 N
m” into “0.23 N m ~ 0.34 N m” (see 5.1; 5.1.1 of Version 2008);
---“use a torque of 0.15 N m ~ 0.20 N m to lock the valve core…” is modified into “use
a torque of 0.17 N m ~ 0.20 N m to lock the valve core…” (see 5.1; 5.1.1 of Version
2008);
---The sealing performance test of the sealing cap is deleted (see 5.1.2 of Version 2008);
---The “assembly torque of the hexagonal nut and the valve body” is modified into
“assembly test of the valve body” (see 5.2; 5.2 of Version 2008).
This Part was proposed by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation.
This Part shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee 19 on Tyres and Rims
of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 19).
The main drafting organization of this Part: Ningbo Yinzhou Chengyu Hardware Factory.

1 Scope
This Part of GB/T 9766 specifies the terms and definitions, test equipment, instruments and
apparatuses, and test procedures of the test of tube clamp-in valves (hereinafter referred to as
“valves”).
This Part is applicable to the valve test of inner tubes of motorcycles and rickshaws, etc.

references with a specified date, only versions with a specified date are applicable to this
document. In terms of references without a specified date, the latest version (including all the

4.2 Pressure gauge: with an indicating value of 0 kPa ~ 2,500 kPa and an accuracy grade of
Grade 1.6.
4.3 Stopwatch.
4.4 The valve sealing performance test device is shown in Figure 1.
