Multi-purpose cleaner
1 Scope
This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, signs,
packaging, transportation, storage and shelf life of multi-purpose cleaners.
This standard is suitable for the cleaners which are formulated with surfactants
or other additives as the main raw materials for the cleaning of various hard
washable surfaces: floors, tiles, bathtubs, marble surfaces, lacquered furniture,
washable walls and various household items.

3 Requirements
3.1 Material requirements
The biodegradability of various surfactants used in multi-purpose cleaners shall
be not less than 90% according to GB/T 21241-2007 "Toilet bowl and ceramic

4.3 Physical-chemical indicators
4.3.1 pH value
According to the method stipulated in GB/T 6368, measure the pH value of
aqueous solution which has a concentration of 10 g/L.
4.3.2 Total active content
It is performed according to clause 7 of GB/T 13173-2008.
4.3.3 Heat-resistance stability
4.3.3.1 Instruments
The instrument is as follows:
a) Thermometer: Accuracy is 0.5°C;
b) Electric heating thermostat: Sensitivity is ± 1°C.
4.3.3.2 Operation
Adjust the electric thermostat to (40 ± 2)°C in advance. Take two bottles of the
sample. Place one bottle in the thermostat. Keep another bottle at room
temperature as the standard sample. After 24 h, take out the heat-resistant
sample. After restoring to room temperature, compare it with the retained
standard sample. Observe whether the product has precipitation or separation.
4.3.4 Cold-resistance stability
4.3.4.1 Instruments
The instrument is as follows:
a) Thermometer: Accuracy is 0.5°C;
b) Refrigerator: Sensitivity is ± 2°C.
4.4 Net content
It is performed according to JJF 1070.
4.5 Package appearance
Visual inspection with sense.
5 Inspection rules
5.1 Product’s batch number
The products of the same formula and same specifications in good package
are deemed as a batch.
5.2 Product inspection
It can only exit-factory after passing the inspection of the production plant and
obtain a certificate of conformity. The receiving department will check and
accept according to the standard.
5.3 Inspection category
5.3.1 Exit-factory inspection items
Exit-factory inspection items include appearance, odor, color, pH value, total
active content, heat-resistance stability, cold-resistance stability, net content,
packaging appearance.
5.3.2 Type inspection items
Type inspection includes all items required in this standard. In one of the
following situations, a type inspection shall be carried out:
a) During the trial production identification of new products;
b) If there are major changes in raw materials, formulas, and processes that
may affect performance;
c) In normal and stable production, it shall be carried out once a year;
d) When resuming production after a long-term shutdown;
e) When the national quality supervision agency proposes the requirements
for type inspection.
5.4 Number of samples
Take the box as the unit; determine the sampling quantity according to Table 2
and according to the batch size.
