Foreword
This Standard was drafted in accordance with the rules in GB/T 1.1-2009 Directives
for Standardization - Part 1: Structure and Drafting of Standards.
The formulation of this Standard takes JIS G3101:2015/AMENDMENT 1:2017 and EN
10025-2: 2004, and the practical situation of Baoshan Iron and Steel as a reference.
This Standard serves as a replacement of Q/BQB 610-2013 Steel Plates for Structure.
In comparison with the previous standard, there are several main changes as follows:
---In Normative References, the reference of GB/T 20124 is added; the reference
of GB/T 20126 is deleted; the year of issuance of GB/T 2975 is added;
---The stipulations of phosphorus and sulfur content in the chemical composition
of various nameplates become more rigorous;
---The stipulations of re-test of impact test are improved.
In this Standard, Appendix A is informative.
This Standard was proposed by the Manufacturing Management Department of
Baoshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd.
This Standard was drafted by the Manufacturing Management Department of Baoshan
Iron and Steel Co., Ltd.
The drafter of this Standard: Huang Jinhua.
The issuance of the previous versions of the standard replaced by this Standard is as
follows:
---Q/BQB 610-2004, Q/BQB 610-2009, Q/BQB 610-2013.
Steel Plates for Structure
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the dimensions, appearance, technical requirements,
inspection and testing, signs and inspection documents of steel plates for structure.
This Standard is applicable to steel plates for structure manufactured by Baoshan Iron
and Steel Co., Ltd.
2 Normative References
The following documents are indispensable to the application of this Standard. In terms
of references with a specified date, only versions with a specified date are applicable
to this Standard. In terms of references without a specified date, the latest version
(including all the modifications) is applicable to this Standard.

5.2.1 Steel plates’ mechanical and process performance shall comply with the
stipulations in Table 6 and Table 7.
5.2.2 After bending test, the external surface of the sample shall not manifest visible
cracks. If the supply-side can guarantee that products are qualified in the test, the
bending test may be unnecessary.
5.2.3 Impact absorption energy is the average value of the test results of a group of
three samples. One of the test results is allowed to be smaller than the stipulated value,
but it shall be not less than 70% of the stipulated value.
5.2.4 Impact test is merely applicable to steel plates, whose thickness is more than, or
equals to 6 mm. When impact test is conducted on steel plates, whose thickness is
more than, or equals to 12 mm, standard samples shall be
adopted; the test result shall satisfy the stipulated value listed in the table. During the
impact test on steel plates, whose thickness is more than, or equals to 6 mm, and less
than 12.0 mm, or auxiliary
samples shall be adopted; the test result shall be respectively not less than 75% or 50%
of the stipulated value listed in the table.
5.2.5 If the result of impact test does not comply with the stipulated requirements,
another 3 samples may be taken from the same product for testing. Under this
circumstance, the average value of the 6 samples in total shall be not less than the
stipulated value. In addition, there can be 2 samples at the most that are lower than
the stipulated value; only 1 value is allowed to be less than 70% of the stipulated value.
Table 8
6.3 Sampling Frequency
6.3.1 Sampling frequency of chemical composition analysis
In accordance with furnace, conduct smelting analysis of chemical composition.
6.3.2 Sampling frequency of tensile performance and bending performance
Each batch shall be constituted of steel plates of the same furnace number, the same
nameplate, and the same delivery state, and whose weight is not more than 50 tons,
and whose maximum thickness is not more than 2 times of the minimum thickness.
When the weight of a batch is more than 50 tons, take 2 samples. When a batch is
constituted of a single-piece steel plate, take 1 sample.
6.3.3 Sampling frequency of impact performance
Each batch shall be constituted of steel plates of the same furnace number, the same
nameplate and the same delivery state. Take the thickest steel plate from the batch as
the sample.
6.3.4 Through the negotiation between the supply-side and the demand-side, the rules
of group batch may be otherwise determined.
6.4 Re-test of Impact Test
When the result of impact test does not comply with the stipulated requirements,
single-piece steel plates which already receive the test and are disqualified in the result
cannot be accepted. In terms of steel plates that are at the same thickness of the
sampling steel plate, submit them piece by piece for impact test and acceptance check.
In terms of steel plates of other thicknesses, constitute a new batch, then, submit for
impact test and acceptance check.
