Gum based candy
1 Scope
This Standard specifies terms and definitions, classification, technical
requirements, inspection methods, inspection rules, determination rules, labels,
marks, packaging, storage, transportation and sale requirements for gum based
candy products.
This Standard is applicable to production, inspection and sale of gum based
candy products defined in 3.1.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions defined in GB/T
31120-2014 as well as the followings apply.
3.1 gum based candy
chewable or bubbled candy made with sugar or syrup or sweetener, gum base
as the main raw materials through related processes

3.1.1 chewing gum based candy
chewy gum based candy
3.1.2 bubble gum based candy
gum based candy that can be blown
4 Classification
Classify according to production raw materials and functions of gum based
candy:
a) chewing gum based candy;
b) bubble gum based candy;
c) other types of gum based candy.
5.4.4 Food nutrition enhancer
Shall comply with the provisions of GB 14880.
5.5 Net weight
Shall comply with the provisions of Measures for the Metrological Supervision
and Administration of Quantitatively Packed Commodities.
6 Inspection methods
6.1 Senses
Place the sample in a clean, dry white container. Strip all packaging materials.
Check color, shape, structure, taste, smell and impurities.
6.2 Loss on drying
Determine according to Method Two specified in GB 5009.3-2016.
6.3 Food safety indicators
Determine in accordance with the method specified in the corresponding food
safety national standards.
6.4 Negative deviation of net content
Inspect according to JJF 1070.
7 Inspection rules
7.1 Batching
Products of the same class or the same shift, the same variety, and the same
production line are a batch.
7.2 Sampling
Randomly sample 0.2% of each batch on the production line, or not less than
1kg per batch.
7.3 Exit-factory inspection
7.3.1 Products shall be inspected batch by batch. Only accepted product can
leave the factory.
8.2.2 When not more than two type inspection items fail to comply with the
provisions of this Standard, it may double sample for reinspection. If one item
after reinspection still fails to comply with the provisions of this Standard, this
batch of products shall be rejected.
9 Labels, marks, packaging, storage, transportation
and sale
9.1 Labels
9.1.1 The labels of pre-packaged products shall comply with the provisions of
GB 7718 and GB 28050.
9.1.2 The product, of which the contents of fruit/juice ingredients (fruit pulp, fruit
powder, jam, juice, concentrated juice) in the ingredients are not less than 2.5%
of the total mass fraction of the candy (calculated as the original fruit or original
juice), may be marked as ××(fruit/juice) candy. When a variety of fruit/juice
ingredients (fruit pulp, fruit powder, jam, juice, concentrated juice) are added to
the candy, of which one of the fruit/juice components is not less than 1.5% of
the total mass fraction of the candy (calculated as the original fruit or original
juice), it may use the fruit represented by the fruit/juice to name, marked as
××(fruit/juice) candy.
9.2 Marks
The storage marks shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 191.
9.3 Packaging
9.3.1 Packaging materials shall comply with relevant national standards or
industry standards.
9.3.2 Packing boxes shall be tight, tidy and undamaged.
9.4 Storage
9.4.1 Products shall be stored in a clean, cool and dry warehouse.
9.4.2 Products shall be stacked on the stacking mat, no less than 10cm away
from the ground and the wall.
9.5 Transportation
9.5.1 Vehicles for transportation shall meet sanitary requirements.
9.5.2 It shall not be mixed or transported with toxic and polluting items. Avoid
