This Document was drafted as per the rules specified in GB/T 1.1-2020 Directives for
Standardization – Part 1.Rules for the Structure and Drafting of Standardizing Documents.
This Document is Part 45 of GB/T 4706 Safety of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances.
GB/T 4706 has published the following parts.
--- Part 1.General Requirements;

--- Part 121.Particular Requirements for Professional Ice-Cream Makers.
This Document replaced GB 4706.45-2008 Household and Similar Electrical Appliances -
Safety - Particular Requirements for Air-Cleaning Appliances. Compared with GB 4706.45-
2008, the major technical changes of this Document are as follows besides the structural
adjustments and editorial modifications.
--- Change the scope of the document to which this document is not applicable (see Clause
1 of this Edition; Clause 1 of the 2008 Edition);
--- Add the definitions of the terms "UV-C emitter" and "ultraviolet air purifier" (see 3.102,
3.103 of this Edition);
--- Add the warning requirements for products with "UV-C emitters" and "ultraviolet air
purifiers", as well as the necessary maintenance, cleaning and replacement instructions
(see 7.1, 7.12 of this Edition);
--- Add additional requirements for the use, maintenance and cleaning of product structures
with "UV-C emitters" and "ultraviolet air purifiers" (see 22.103, 22.104, 22.105, 22.106
of this Edition);
--- Add "UV-C radiation protection requirements for internal wiring" (see 23.101 of this
Edition);
--- Add requirements for ozone release and ultraviolet radiation (see 32.101, 32.102 of this
Edition);

Particular Requirements for Air-Cleaning Appliances
1 Scope
This Clause of GB/T 4706.1-2024 is replaced by the following.
This Document specifies the safety requirements of electric air-cleaning appliances for
household and similar purposes.
This Document applies to electric air purifiers for household and similar purposes with a rated
voltage not exceeding 250V for single-phase appliances and 480V for other appliances.
Appliances not intended for normal household use but that nevertheless may be a source of
danger to the public, such as appliances intended to be used by laymen in shops, in light industry
and on farms, are within the scope of this Document.
As far as is practicable, this Document deals with the common hazards presented by appliances
that are encountered by all persons in and around the home.
However, in general, it does not take into account
– persons (including children) whose
 physical, sensory or mental capabilities; or
 lack of experience and knowledge;
prevents them from using the appliance safely without supervision or instruction;
– children playing with the appliance.
NOTE 101.Attention is drawn to the fact that
– for appliances intended to be used in vehicles or on-board ships or aircraft, additional requirements
may be necessary;
– in many countries additional requirements are specified by the relevant national authorities for the
appliances.
