1 Scope
This Standard stipulates the test conditions, test procedures and result reports of
protective clothing material resistance to hypodermic needle puncture.
This Standard is applicable to the evaluation of medical protective clothing material’s
resistance to hypodermic needle puncture.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions are applicable to this document.
3.1 Protective Clothing Material
Protective clothing material refers to single or combined materials (such as: plastic or
elastic films, coated fabrics, composite materials, leather or textile materials) used to
make protective clothing, which can isolate the wearer’s body from potential hazards.
3.2 Hypodermic Needle
Hypodermic needle refers to hollow stainless-steel needle with needle tip for skin-
puncturing.
4 Instruments
4.1 Thickness Gauge
