This document describes a method for the gravimetric determination of the silicon content in iron, steel, high-temperature alloys and precision alloys. This document is applicable to the determination of silicon content in the mass fraction range of 0.10%~6.00%. NOTE: For samples containing molybdenum, niobium, tantalum, titanium, tungsten, zirconium or high levels of chromium, the results are less accurate than for unalloyed matrices.
