Foreword
This document was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2020,
Directives for standardization - Part 1: Rules for the structure and drafting of
standardizing documents.
This document replaces GB/T 24933-2010, Caution symbols for all-terrain vehicles;
compared with GB/T 24933-2010, in addition to structural adjustments and editorial
changes, the main technical changes are as follows:
a) Delete the text content “can be used as a reference for other vehicles of the same
type” (see Chapter 1 of the 2010 edition);
b) Delete the text content “ANSI Z535.4 Product safety signs and labels” (see
Chapter 2 of the 2010 edition);
c) Add the chapter Terms and definitions, defining warning symbol, warning
symbol marking, warning label, warning sign and hang tags, etc. (see Chapter
3);
d) Add requirements for the background color of warning symbols (see 4.5);
e) Delete the column “Registration No.” (see Table 1 of the 2010 edition);
f) Delete the graphic symbols and instructions of “NEVER permit children under
age 16 to operate this ATV” and “NEVER permit driving as a passenger vehicle”
(see No. 07 and No. 08 in Table 1 of the 2010 edition);
g) Delete the English graphic symbols of “heat”, “NEVER permit children under
age 6 to operate this ATV”, “NEVER permit children under age 10 to operate
this ATV”, “NEVER permit children under age 12 to operate this ATV”,
“NEVER permit children under age 14 to operate this ATV”, “NEVER permit
children under age 16 to operate this ATV” and “warning” (see No. 11 ~ No. 17
in Table 1 of the 2010 edition);
h) Change the graphic symbols of “protective equipment”, “no road driving”,
“NEVER carry a passenger”, “NEVER carry more than 1 passenger”, “NEVER
drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs”, “NEVER carry passengers in the
front or rear”, “ALWAYS wear protective equipment”, and “driving training” in
Table 1 (see No. 01 ~ No. 08 in Table 1; No. 01 ~ No. 06, No. 09, and No. 10 in
Table 1 of the 2010 edition);
i) Add the content “1 passenger (over 12 years old) is allowed” to the description
of “NEVER carry more than 1 passenger” (see No. 04 in Table 1);
j) Add the yellow background color and description of the graphic symbol “heat”
(see No. 09 in Table 1);
Caution symbols for all-terrain vehicles
1 Scope
This document specifies the requirements for all-terrain vehicle warning graphic
symbols, warning symbols, and warning symbol markings.
This document applies to warning graphic symbols for all-terrain vehicles (referred to
as warning symbols).
2 Normative references
The following documents are referred to in the text in such a way that some or all of
their content constitutes requirements of this document. For dated references, only the
version corresponding to that date is applicable to this document; for undated references,
the latest version (including all amendments) is applicable to this document.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purpose of this document, the following terms and definitions, as well as those
given in GB/T 24936, apply.
3.1
warning symbol
caution symbol
Symbol, featured by graphics and not relying on language, which is to remind people
to use vehicles safely and avoid possible dangers.
3.2
warning symbol marking
caution symbol marking
Graphic and/or text marking placed in conspicuous locations to remind drivers and
passengers to use the vehicle correctly and avoid possible dangers.
3.3
warning label
Warning marking set on the vehicle by pasting, using flexible structure and thin material
as the carrier.
3.4
warning sign
Warning marking set on the vehicle by riveting, welding, pasting, etc., using rigid
structure and thin material as the carrier.
3.5
hang tags
Warning marking hung on the vehicle to remind the first buyer to use the vehicle safely,
using thin material as the carrier.
4 Requirements
4.1 Warning symbols and colors shall comply with the provisions of Chapter 5.
4.2 Warning symbol markings shall comply with the provisions of Chapter 6. The
names of warning labels or warning signs shall comply with the provisions of GB/T
24936.
4.3 The layout of warning symbol markings shall comply with product design
requirements and be easy to observe and identify.
4.4 The contrast between the warning symbol and its background color shall be clear
and obvious.
4.5 Unless otherwise specified, the background color of the warning symbol shall be
white.
4.6 The colors and meanings of warning symbols are as follows:
a) Red – indicating danger;
b) Yellow (or amber) – indicating caution;
c) Green (or blue) – indicating safety;
d) Black – indicating objects, words, numbers, etc.
Front: 20.0 kPa ± 0.2 kPa.
Rear: 20.0 kPa ± 0.2 kPa.
● Maximum load capacity: 85 kg.

6.2.3.2 The contents of the combined warning label shall be indicated in the product
instruction manual and on the tire.
6.2.3.3 Any information appearing on a combined warning label shall comply with
safety requirements.
6.2.3.4 The combined warning label shall be affixed at the following locations: on the
left rear fender above the rear wheel axis for four-wheel all-terrain vehicles (ATVs); on
visible locations such as the vehicle body, frame, cargo box, and shelf for multi-purpose
all-terrain vehicles (UVs) and go-karts, which shall be indicated in the instruction
manual.
6.2.3.5 The minimum outer edge dimensions of the rectangular frame of the combined
warning label are: height 46 mm × width 70 mm.
6.2.4 Maximum load capacity warning label
6.2.4.1 Each all-terrain vehicle may be equipped with a maximum load capacity
warning label on the load carrier, designated support area, or trailer connection.
6.2.4.2 The maximum load capacity shall be listed on the maximum load capacity
warning label.
6.2.4.3 If a maximum load capacity warning label is affixed to an all-terrain vehicle, it
shall be affixed near the vehicle body or on the cargo area or trailer connection.
6.2.4.4 The maximum load capacity may be stamped, moulded or permanently etched
on the cargo area or trailer connection, which shall be easily readable by the driver.
6.2.5 Type I warning label
6.2.5.1 Type I general warning label
6.2.5.1.1 Each Type I four-wheeled all-terrain vehicle (ATV) shall be affixed with a
Type I general warning label. The content, model and format are shown in Figure 5.
6.3.2 Size
The height of the hang tag shall not be less than 152.5 mm and the width shall not be
less than 101.5 mm.
6.3.3 Content
6.3.3.1 The overall warning label content shall be repeated once more on the first side
(front) of the hang tag, including the content of the Type I general warning label in
6.2.5.1 or the content of the Type II general warning label in 6.2.6.1.

1 Scope
This document specifies the requirements for all-terrain vehicle warning graphic
symbols, warning symbols, and warning symbol markings.
This document applies to warning graphic symbols for all-terrain vehicles (referred to
as warning symbols).
2 Normative references

4 Requirements

4.3 The layout of warning symbol markings shall comply with product design
requirements and be easy to observe and identify.
4.4 The contrast between the warning symbol and its background color shall be clear
and obvious.
4.5 Unless otherwise specified, the background color of the warning symbol shall be
white.

6.3.2 Size
