Foreword
This Standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This Standard replaces GB/T 26278-2010, Tyre size substitution guide; compared with
GB/T 26278-2010, the main technical changes are as follow:
-- Modify terms and definitions (see Chapter 3; Chapter 3 of the 2010 edition);
-- Modify requirements for the outer dimensions of substitution tyres (see 4.4; 4.4 of
the 2010 edition);
-- Modify requirements for the matching rims when replacing (see 4.5; 4.5 of the
2010 edition);
-- Add examples of the substitution tyre size (see Appendix A).
This Standard was proposed by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation.
This Standard shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee on Tyres
and Rims of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 19).

Tyre size substitution guide
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the requirements for tyre size substitution.
This Standard applies to passenger car tyres and truck tyres.
2 Normative references
The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this
document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies to this document. For
undated references, the latest edition (including any amendment) applies to this
document.

3 Terms and definitions
Terms and definitions determined by GB/T 6326 and the following ones are applicable
to this document.
3.1 OE tyre
The tyre fitted to the vehicle at the factory.
3.2 Substitution tyre
The tyre that can replace the OE tyre.
4 Requirements
4.1 Substitution tyres shall meet the requirements of GB 9743 and GB 9744.
4.2 When replacing tyres, the assembly of tyres shall comply with the provisions of
GB/T 9768.
