Classification of furniture materials
1 Scope
This standard specifies the classification and code of furniture materials.
This standard applies to the classification and coding principles, coding
methods, classifications and codes of furniture materials.
2 Normative references
The following documents are essential to the application of this document. For
the dated documents, only the versions with the dates indicated are applicable
to this document; for the undated documents, only the latest version (including
all the amendments) are applicable to this standard.

3 Terms and definitions
The terms and definitions as defined in GB/T 28202-2011 AND the following
terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
Furniture materials
Various materials used to form finished furniture.
3.2
Furniture filling materials
The inner core material which is used to fill the furniture; AND the elastic
material that is filled inside the furniture and has an elastic effect.
3.3
Furniture packaging materials
Materials used for packaging finished furniture.
4 Classification and coding principles
4.1 In this standard, it classifies materials in two ways: by use and by attributes.
4.2 In this standard, it divides furniture materials into four levels: master
category, large category, medium category, small category; compiles a uniform
code. The code consists of 8 digits.
5 Coding method
5.1 The codes of master categories, large categories, medium categories, small
categories in this standard shall be coded sequentially, starting from 01. When
the levels of this standard are no longer further divided, the codes shall be
supplemented with "00", until the 8th digit.
5.2 For each level of this standard, it needs setting up containment items which
have the word "other", as needed. In order to facilitate identification, the code
mantissa of the containment item is required to be "99" in principle.
5.3 The code structure diagram of this standard is as shown in Figure 1.
Figure 1 -- Structure diagram of code
Example: The code of master category is represented by 2 digits, which represent the
different material categories that make up the furniture, such as furniture base material,
furniture hardware accessories, etc. The code of large category is represented by 4
digits, which represent the specific material category after the further division of master
category, such as wood, metals, plastics, etc. The code of medium category is
represented by 6 digits, which represent various materials that are further divided from
the materials that are organically connected to the large category, such as solid wood
sawn timber after simple primary processing of logs AND solid wood panels after in-
depth processing. The code of small category is represented by 8 digits, which
