Acrylonitrile - Butadiene Rubber (NBR)
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules,
product packaging, marking, transportation, storage and shelf life of acrylonitrile-
butadiene rubber (NBR) [namely, nitrile rubber (NBR)].
This Standard is applicable to nitrile rubber, which takes butadiene and acrylonitrile as
the monomer, and adopts low-temperature emulsion polymerization in production; this
standard is applicable to three types of nitrile rubber, namely, intermediately bound
acrylonitrile, intermediately and highly bound acrylonitrile, and highly bound
acrylonitrile.

3 Technical Requirements
3.1 Appearance
The primary shape of nitrile rubber is block, with uniform colors and no foreign matters.
3.2 Technical Indicators
Please refer to Table 1 for the test items and technical indicators of nitrile rubber.

5 Inspection Rules
5.1 Inspection Items
5.1.1 Model inspection
In accordance with the technical requirements in Table 1, model inspection shall be
conducted in trial production of new products; when there are significant changes in
raw materials and technologies; when production is resumed after suspension; after a
certain stipulated inspection cycle. In terms of model inspection items in Table 1,
different inspection cycles and frequencies can be stipulated.
5.1.2 Exit-factory inspection
Volatile compounds, Mooney viscosity and compound acrylonitrile in Table 1 are exit-
factory inspection items. Through the negotiation with users, other items in Table 1 can
also be stipulated as exit-factory inspection items.
5.2 Group Rules and Sampling Plans
5.2.1 Group rules
Condensed and dried products based on a jar of evenly mixed rubber cement shall be
considered as one batch. Products with uniform quality, and the same raw materials
and technological conditions shall be considered as one batch. The mass of each
batch shall not exceed 100 t.
5.2.2 Sampling plans
In exit-factory inspection, take samples in accordance with time frames. Samples that
are taken by time frames shall be prepared in accordance with GB/T 15340. In
arbitration test, conduct sampling and sample preparation in accordance with the
stipulation in GB/T 19187.
5.3 Determination Rules
5.3.1 Exit-factory determination rules
Conduct inspection and acceptance check in accordance with the mixed laboratory
sample stipulated in GB/T 19187. When any item does not conform to the technical
requirements in Table 1, take the reserved sample and conduct re-inspection of the
unqualified item. In accordance with the re-inspection result, determine the mass.
5.3.2 Arbitration determination rules
