This Part of GB/T 3903 identically adopts the International Standard ISO 22654.2002
“Footwear - Test methods for insoles and insocks - Water absorption and desorption”
(English version).
For easy use, this Part has the following editorial modifications.
a) “this International Standard” is modified into “this Part”;
b) USE the decimal point “.” to replace the comma “,” used as decimal point;
c) DELETE the foreword of the International Standard;
d) DELETE the table of content of the International Standard;
e) for the International standards referenced in ISO 22649.2003, this Part directly
reference the corresponding national standards;
f) DELETE the annex of the International Standard.
This Part was proposed by China Light Industry Council.
This Part shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee on Footwear
of Standardization Administration of China.

Water absorption and desorption
1 Scope
This Part of GB/T 3903 specifies two test methods for determining the water absorption
and desorption of insoles and insocks.
This Part is applicable to all kinds of insoles and insocks of footwear.
Two methods are.
- Method A. Determination of the static water absorption and desorption of insoles
and insocks;
- Method B. Determination of the dynamic water absorption and desorption of
insoles.
2 Normative references
The provisions in following documents become the provisions of this Part through
reference in this Part of GB/T 3903. For dated references, the subsequent
amendments (excluding corrigendum) or revisions do not apply to this Part, however,
parties who reach an agreement based on this Part are encouraged to study if the
latest versions of these documents are applicable. For undated references, the latest
edition of the referenced document applies.
