5 Test Methods
5.1 Judgment of test results
The test result adopts the rounding value judgment method and shall be carried out in
accordance with GB/T 8170-2008.
5.2 Preparation of specimen
The injection molded specimen is prepared according to the provisions of GB/T
17037.1-2019. Before injection molding, the material shall be dried for at least 2h at a
temperature of 60°C~80°C.
Use the Type-A mould in GB/T 17037.1-2019 to prepare the Type-1A specimen, which
complies with GB/T 1040.2-2006; and the Type-B mould is used to prepare the strip
specimen with size of 80mm×10mm×4mm.
The specimens that are used to determine the combustibility, proof tracking index, and
glow wire flammability index may be prepared by injection molding by a mould that
meets the size requirements.
5.3 Condition adjustment of the specimen and standard environment of the test
The condition adjustment of the specimen shall be conducted in accordance with the
provisions of GB/T 2918-2018. The condition adjustment is conducted under the
conditions of temperature (23±2) °C, relative humidity (50±10) %, and adjustment time
of at least 16h. Under special circumstances, the condition adjustment shall be
conducted according to the instruction manual of the material or the conditions agreed
by the supplier and the purchaser.
The test shall be carried out in the standard environment specified in GB/T 2918-2018,
the ambient temperature is (23±2) °C, and the relative humidity is (50±10) %.
5.4 Particle appearance
It shall be conducted according to the provisions of SH/T 1541.1-2019.
5.5 Tensile strength and tensile strain at break
The specimen shall be Type-1A specimen with a size of 150mm×10mm×4mm, and be
prepared according to 5.2.
The condition adjustment of the specimen shall be conducted according to 5.3.
The test shall be carried out according to GB/T 1040.2-2006, and the test speed is
50mm/min.
It shall be carried out according to the provisions of GB/T 2408-2008, test method is
Method-B.
5.11 Glow wire flammability index
The specimen is prepared according to 5.2 with a length ≥ 60 mm, a width ≥ 60 mm,
and a thickness ≥ 2 mm.
The condition adjustment of the specimen shall be conducted according to 5.3.
Test according to the provisions of GB/T 5169.12-2013.
5.12 Weather resistance
Test according to Method-A in GB/T 16422.2-2014. The test time is 1000h.
The condition adjustment of the specimen shall be conducted according to 5.3.
Judge the appearance of the specimen after the weather resistance test by visual
examination method.
According to the Izod notched impact strength after the weather resistance test in 5.7,
calculate the Izod notched impact strength retention.
Test the combustibility of the specimen after weather resistance test in 5.10.
5.13 Water resistance
Test according to GB/T 11547-2008. Soaking liquid: distilled water, soaking time: 168h,
soaking temperature: 70°C.
The condition adjustment of the specimen shall be conducted according to 5.3.
According to the Izod notched impact strength after the water resistance test in 5.7,
calculate the Izod notched impact strength retention.
Test the combustibility of the specimen after water resistance test in 5.10.
5.14 Restricted substances
Test according to the provisions of GB/T 26125-2011.
6 Inspection Rules
6.1 Inspection classification and inspection items
The inspection of PC/ABS material may be divided into two categories: type inspection
the item shall be re-sampled for re-inspection. The re-inspection result shall be used
as the basis for quality judgment of this batch of products.
7 Marking, Packaging, Transportation and Storage
7.1 Marking
There shall be a product marking on the outer packaging or product instruction manual
of the PC/ABS material. The product marking includes product name, product form,
product identification, manufacturer name and address, production date, batch number,
net content, designation, implementation standard number, and the like information.
When the products leave the factory, each batch of products shall be accompanied by
a product quality inspection certificate. The certificate shall indicate the product name,
designation, batch number, implementation standard; and be stamped by a special
seal for quality inspection and an inspector's seal.
7.2 Packaging
PC/ABS material adopts polypropylene packaging bag, or double-layer packaging bag
with outer layer of kraft paper bag and inner layer of polypropylene, or other packaging
forms. The packaging materials shall be dust-proof and moisture-proof to ensure that
the products are not contaminated during stacking, storage and transportation.
There shall be a mark that is not easy to fall off and meets the requirements in 7.1. The
net content of each bag may be 25kg or others.
7.3 Transportation
PC/ABS materials are non-dangerous goods. The products may be transported by
general transportation tool. The tools of transportation shall be clean, dry and equipped
with sheds or tarpaulins. The packaging shall be prevented from damage during
transportation. It shall not be mixed with flammable and volatile organic solvents, nor
shall it be mixed with sand, broken metal, coal, and glass. Do not expose to the sun or
rain.
