Herbal tea
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the terms and definitions, product classification, test
methods, inspection rules, marking, labeling, packaging, transportation and
storage of herbal tea.
This Standard applies to herbal tea products.

6 Test method
6.1 Sensory indicators
Test according to the method that is specified in Appendix A.
6.2 Physical-chemical indicators
6.2.1 Determine the moisture according to the method that is specified in GB
5009.3.
6.2.2 Determine the total ash according to the method that is specified in GB
5009.4.
6.3 Hygienic indicators
6.3.1 Determine the lead according to the method that is specified in GB
5009.12.
6.3.2 Determine the total arsenic according to the method that is specified in
GB/T 5009.11.
6.3.3 Determine the sulfur dioxide according to the method that is specified in
GB/T 5009.34.
6.3.4 Determine the cadmium according to the method that is specified in GB/T
5009.15.
6.3.5 Determine Hexachlorocyclohexane, DDT, dicofol, fenvalerate, dichlorvos,
dimethoate, chlorpyrifos, carbofuran, triazophos, acephate, and fenitrothion
according to the method that is specified in NY/T 761.
6.4 Net content
Test according to the method that is specified in JJF 1070.
7 Inspection rules
7.1 Sampling
7.1.1 Batching
Products that have the same color, grade, packaging specifications and net
content, consistent mass, and are processed and packaged at the same place
and within the same period are assembled into one batch.
7.1.2 Sampling method and number of samples
When there is a dispute over the inspection results, perform a re-inspection on
the retained samples or the re-randomly double sampling products of the same
batch of unqualified items; it shall be subject to the re-inspection results.
8 Marking, labelling, packaging, transportation and
storage
8.1 Marking, labeling
The storage and transportation pictorial signs shall meet the requirements of
GB/T 191. The labeling shall comply with the provisions of GB 7718 and the
"Decision on Amending the Administrative Provisions on Food Labeling".
8.2 Packaging
The packaging materials that contact the herbal tea shall meet the
corresponding sanitary requirements; they shall be clean, dry, odorless, non-
toxic, and shall have good air tightness.
8.3 Transportation
Clean, dry, odor-free, and pollution-free transportation tools shall be used; it
must not be mixed or transported with toxic, harmful, odorous, or easily polluted
items; there shall be rain-proof, moisture-proof, and exposure-proof protection
measures during transportation to avoid severe impact and heavy pressure.
8.4 Storage
It shall be stored in a clean, dry, and odor-free special warehouse; the products
shall be stacked more than 20 cm away from the ground and the wall. There
shall be no peculiar smell around the warehouse. It should be refrigerated.

1 Scope

6 Test method
