Foreword
This Standard is drafted through the revision of the recommended chemical industry
standard HG/T 3089-1987 Rubber Mixture of O-ring Seals for Fuel. The main differences
between this Standard and HG/T 3089-1987(1997) are as follows.
— Remove "Manufactured by nitrile rubber" in the scope.
— For compressive set test method, adopt GB/T 7759-1996 Rubber, Vulcanized or
thermoplastic-Determination of compression set at ambient elevated or low
temperatures. And appropriately adjust the indicators.
This Standard shall replace HG/T 3089-1987 from the implementation date.
This Standard was proposed by State Bureau of Petroleum and Chemical Industry.
This Standard shall be under the jurisdiction of Technical Committee for Seal Products,
National Technical Committee for the Standardization of Rubber and Rubber Products.
Responsible drafting organizations of this Standard. Northwest Rubber and Plastics Institute,
and Chongqing Changjiang Rubber Plant and Liaoning Tieling Research and Design
Institute of Rubber Industry.
Main drafters of this Standard. Cao Yuanli, Cao Xiaofeng, and Dai Yanfen.
This Standard was published for the first-time as the national standard GB 7527-1987 in
1987. In 1997, it was adjusted to be the recommended chemical industry standard and
was renumbered as HG/T 3089-1987.
Rubber mixture of O-ring seals for fuel
Replacing HG/T 3089-1987(1997)
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the requirements, sampling, test methods and the marking,
labeling, packaging, and storage of O-ring rubber seal materials for petroleum-based fuel
system.
This Standard applies to O-ring rubber seal materials used for petroleum-based fuel
system under -40~100°C.

6.2 Each inner package shall be attached with a label, indicating the standard number,
material code, manufacturing date, conditions of vulcanization, quantity, conforming mark
and manufacturer’s name, etc.
6.3 The materials that will not damage and pollute the rubber material shall be adopted for
packaging. And then it is loaded into the packing box. Each box shall not be more than
50kg.
6.4 Rubber materials shall be stored under the environment with temperature of 0~28°C.
The relative humidity is not greater than 80%. The distance from the heat source is not
smaller than 1m.
6.5 During the storage of rubber materials, they shall not contact with acid, alkali, oil and
organic solvent. They shall avoid sunlight, electric arc, ultraviolet rays and other rays.
6.6 Under the above mentioned storage conditions, storage period of rubber materials is 3
months. For rubber materials exceeding the storage period, it shall be inspected
thoroughly according to the provisions shown in Table 1. They can be used after the
