systems - Part 1: General requirements
1 Scope
This part of JB/T 11880 specifies the technical conditions, test methods and
approval rules of the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system.
This part applies to SCR systems for diesel engines and vehicles. SCR systems
for other purposes can also be implemented by reference.

4.3 The approval applicant shall provide the following to the testing organization
responsible for approval testing:
a) Heavy-duty vehicle engines or light-duty vehicles equipped with new
original catalytic reduction systems and approved according to emission
regulations. The selected vehicle or engine shall be agreed upon by the
applicant and the testing agency in accordance with the requirements of
emission regulations. The engine or vehicle to be tested shall be in good
mechanical condition. Before the test, the heavy-duty vehicle engine has
been fit-in running for at least 40 hours; the light-duty vehicle has been in
fit-in running for at least 3000 km. The engine or vehicle shall be free from
the defects of the emission control system. The original parts that are
excessively worn or the emission control failure shall be repaired or
replaced. Before the emission test, the engine or vehicle shall be correctly
adjusted to the technical specifications specified by the manufacturer.
b) A sample of approval catalytic reduction system. The sample shall be
clearly and persistently marked with the approval applicant’s factory name,
trademark and trade name.
c) In addition, a certified catalytic reduction system sample shall be added
for use in vehicles equipped with an on-board diagnostic (OBD) system.
The sample shall be clearly and persistently marked with the applicant’s
factory name, trademark and trade name. The sample must be degraded
in accordance with 3.10.
5 Approval
5.1 If the catalytic reduction system submitted for approval in accordance with
the provisions of this part meets the requirements of Chapter 6, the approval of
the type of catalytic reduction system is permitted.
5.2 If the original catalytic reduction system used for approval is of the type
covered by Appendix A and is used for the engine or vehicle involved in the
relevant type approval documents, it shall only meet the following requirements
and no longer need to be certified according to the provisions of this part:
a) The original catalytic reduction system used for approval shall have at
least the following signs:
1) The name or trademark of the engine or vehicle manufacturer;
2) For the brand and part identification number of the original approval
catalytic reduction system, see the information listed in 5.3.
5.5 If the requesting party for type approval can prove to the type approval
management department or testing organization that the catalytic reduction
system is of the type listed in Appendix A, then the type approval certificate may
be approved, without requiring verification in accordance with the requirements
as specified in Chapter 6.
5.6 Refer to the sample form stipulated in Appendix C, to send a notice on the
type approval, approval extension or approval rejection of a certain type of
catalytic reduction system according to the provisions of this part to the
contracting parties adopting the provisions of this part .
5.7 If the approval catalytic reduction system conforms to a certain type of
catalytic reduction system certified in accordance with the...
