1 Scope
This standard specifies the test method for travelling of case and bag.
This standard applies to all kinds of traveling cases and bags with travelling
wheels.
2 Principle
2.1 Method A
Apply the specified load onto the specimen. Use the mutual friction and impact
between the rotating testing roller of the roller-type travelling tester and the
travelling wheels of the specimen, as well as the shocking oscillation and wear
as generated on the specimen, to simulate the conditions of use when the case
and bag travels, to perform the continuous traveling test, thereby checking the
quality of the traveling wheels, wheel axle, wheel frame, pull rod, box of the
specimen, calculating the wear of the traveling wheel.
2.2 Method B
Apply the specified load onto the specimen. Use the mutual friction and impact
between the bumping board of the belt-conveyor of the belt-conveyor traveling
tester and the travelling wheels of the specimen, as well as the shocking
oscillation and wear as generated on the specimen, to simulate the conditions
of use when the case and bag travels, to perform the continuous traveling test,
thereby checking the quality of the traveling wheels, wheel axle, wheel frame,
pull rod, box of the specimen, calculating the wear of the traveling wheel.
3 Devices
3.1 Roller-type traveling tester
The roller-type traveling tester shall include the components as specified in
3.1.1 ~ 3.1.4.
3.1.1 Cement test roller, diameter (216 ± 2) mm, with a raised steel strip (r = 0.5
mm) with a convex width of (30 ± 1) mm and a surface convex thickness of (3.0
± 0.5) mm. The length of the test roller is greater than the maximum spacing of
the parallel traveling wheels of the specimen under testing (about 600 mm).
5.1.5 Set the running speed of the tester. 4 km/h, with a rest for 10 min per
running of 2 km.
5.1.6 Select the following stroke for testing. 4 km, 8 km, 12 km, 16 km, 20 km,
or perform test according to the specified stroke.
5.1.7 At the end of the test, let the specimen be standing for 1 h.
5.1.8 Follow the requirements of 5.3 to check the apparent quality of the case
(bag), traveling wheel, axle, wheel frame, pull rod, handle, side handle, side
pull-handle, side pull-belt.
5.1.9 Follow the requirements of 5.1.1 to measure the diameter of the traveling
wheel after test. Measure each traveling wheel for 3 times. Take the minimum
value.
5.2 Method B
5.2.1 According to the provisions of Table 1, apply the specified load into the
case and bag specimen. The load shall be distributed evenly.
5.2.2 Place the specimen on the conveyor belt of tester. Place the traveling
wheel on the conveyor belt.
- Two-wheel test. Pull all the pull rods out and hang them on the hook. For
the specimen without pull rod, hang the handle or side handle (side pull-
handle, side pull-belt) on the hook or crossbar. Adjust the angle between
the case (bag) and the horizontal plane to (45 ± 2)° [If the traveling wheel
can be normally tested, it may select the angles of (60 ± 2)° or (80 ± 2)° for
testing, indicate the testing angle]. Lock tightly the pull rod’s handle.
- Four-wheel test. Place the specimen horizontally on the conveyor belt.
Place the 4 traveling wheels on the conveyor belt. Fix the specimen.
5.2.3 Set the running speed of the tester. 2 km/h, with a rest for 10 min per
running of 2 km.
5.2.4 Select the following stroke for testing. 2 km, 4 km, 8 km, 12 km, 16 km,
20 km, or perform test according to the specified stroke.
5.2.5 At the end of the test, let the specimen be standing for 1 h.
5.2.6 Follow the requirements of 5.3 to check the apparent quality of the case
(bag), traveling wheel, axle, wheel frame, pull rod, handle, side handle, side
pull-handle, side pull-belt.
