Foreword
NB/T 47018-2017 Technical Permission of Welding Materials for Pressure
Equipment can be divided into 5 Parts:
--- Part 1: General Rule;
--- Part 2: Electrodes for Steel;
--- Part 3: Steel Electrodes and Rods for Gas Shielded Arc Welding;
--- Part 4: Electrodes and Fluxes or Submerged Arc Welding;
--- Part 5: Stainless-Steel Strip Electrodes and Fluxes for Overlay Welding.
This Part is the Part 2 of NB/T 47018-2017.
This Part was drafted as per the rules specified in GB/T 1.1-2009 Directives for
Standardization – Part 1: Structure and Drafting of Standards.
This Part revised NB/T 47018.2-2011 Technical Permission of Welding Materials for
Pressure Equipment - Part 2: Electrodes for Steel. Compared with NB/T 47018.2-2011,
the major technical Changes of this Part are as follows:
--- According to the provisions of national standards on electrodes of 2012 Version,
change the name of GB/T 5117 Carbon Steel Covered Electrodes into Electrodes
for Non-Alloy and Fine-Grain Steels; change the name of GB/T 5118 Low Alloy
Steel Covered Electrodes into Covered Electrodes for Manual Metal Arc Welding
of Creep-Resisting Steels; and newly add GB/T 32533 Covered Electrodes for
Manual Metal Arc Welding of High-Strength Steels.
--- Reserve 7 electrode models of E4303, E4315, E4316, E5015, E5016, E5018,
E5515-G in the electrodes for non-alloy and fine grain steels; and the model
formulation of the electrodes is the same as that in the new version of standard,
however, there are some changes in the technical requirements. Reserve 5
electrode models, and the corresponding changed models are put into the
brackets according to the provisions of new version of standard: E5015-E
(E5015-N1), E5016-E (E5016-N1), E5515-E (-40°C) (E5515-N1), E5516-E
(E5516-N1), E5515-E (-50°C) (E5515-N3). Add totally 23 electrode models,
including E4318, E5516-G, E5518-G (-30°C), E5018-G (-40°C), E5518-G (-
40°C), E5018-1, E5015-G, E5016-G, E5015-N2, E5515-N2, E5018-N2, E5516-
N3, E5518-N3, E5515- N5, E5516-N5, E5518-N5, E5015-G (-70°C), E5015-N5,
E5016-N5, E5018-N5, E5015-N7, E5016-N7, and E5018-N7.
--- Reserve 5 electrode models in the electrodes for creep-resisting steels, and the
Technical Permission of Welding Materials for
Pressure Equipment Section 2: Electrodes for Steel
1 Scope
This Part of NB/T 47018-2017 specifies the technical requirements, deposited metal
bending test and product marking for the steel electrodes.
This Part is applicable to the electrodes for non-alloy and fine-grain steels, electrodes
for creep-resisting steels, electrodes for high-strength steel, and stainless-steel
electrodes used for the pressure equipment.
